We woke up to the booming sound of music, flags and hundreds if not thousands of people marching past our hotel which was opposite the Colosseum.
With a few hours to spare before our shuttle bus picked us up for our airport hotel we decided to stroll down to the Roman Forum.
We passed by the Colosseum and the ancient ruins...
And admired the beautiful statues and pillars if the Roman Forum from the outside....
...and marble details, statues and mosaic murals on the inside.
Luckily we headed back to hotel early because the shuttle came by early worrying that the protests may delay our trip. So we spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing at our new hotel... Our last night in Rome!
